ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
In order to apply to the PhD program in the Department of Environmental Engineering of our university, those who have a Bachelor's Degree or a Master's Degree with thesis, those who completed their Master's Degree or those having a bachelor's degree of at least 10 semesters except preparatory classes must have at least 55 ALES score. Those who will apply with a bachelor's degree of less than ten semesters except preparatory classes must have a minimum ALES score of 80 and an undergraduate graduation grade-point average of at least 80 out of 100 or 3 out of 4. Those applying to the doctoral/proficiency in art programs must get a score of at least 55 from YDS or an equivalent score from an exam the equivalence of which is accepted by the Interuniversity Board. In order for foreign applicants to be admitted to the graduate programs, they must have a diploma from a higher education institution in Türkiye or a diploma from an institution the undergraduate or Master’s Degree education of which is accepted as equivalent by the Council of Higher Education. Foreign students who will apply to the PhD program must obtain a score of at least 55 from YDS in one of the foreign languages accepted by the Interuniversity Board, other than their mother tongue, or an equivalent score from an exam accepted as equivalent by the Interuniversity Board. The Senate may raise the minimum scores if necessary according to the characteristics of the programs to be entered. Foreign students who graduated from a higher education institution in Türkiye are subject to the same conditions regarding ALES score as the students of the Republic of Türkiye. They are required to have an equivalency certificate from the Council of Higher Education and a Turkish proficiency certificate from TÖMER. Turkish proficiency certificate is not required in the departments that provide education in a foreign language. The administrative board of the institute is authorized to determine the entrance requirements for foreign students. In the evaluation of student admission to doctoral programs, if there is no interview, 50% of the ALES score, 30% of the Master's Degree grade point average and 20% of the foreign language score are taken, and the success score is calculated. In the departments where an interview exam is held, 50% of the ALES score, 15% of the Master's Degree grade point average, 15% of the foreign language score and 20% of the interview exam are taken. For those who will apply for a doctorate with a bachelor's degree of less than ten semesters, except preparatory classes, the undergraduate grade point average is used in the calculation of the success score. Success score must be at least 60. Candidates above 60 points are placed in the relevant programs according to the announced quotas in an order from the highest score. In case of the equality of scores, the candidate with a higher ALES score is preferred. The candidate who does not take the interview exam is considered unsuccessful.
