ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates with a high school diploma, candidates who show certain success in the central exams conducted by the Center for Assessment, Selection and Placement (OSYM) or in the international exams accepted by the Council of Higher Education are placed, taking into account the order of preference and success. The candidate who has gained the right to become a student makes the final registration with the documents specified within the period announced by the university. In addition, students are admitted to the Department of Environmental Engineering with DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam) conducted by OSYM for successful students who have graduated from Vocational Schools.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNINGS
Recognition of prior learning in higher education institutions, vertical and horizontal (intra-university and inter-university) transfers are made within the scope of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Programs, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer in Higher Education Institutions" determined by the Council of Higher Education and published in the Official Gazette dated 24.04.2010 and numbered 27561. Students are given an exemption assessment and/or exam at the beginning of the academic semester regarding the courses they have taken in their prior learning programs. Students who are considered to meet the expected qualifications of these courses or students who achieve success in the exams may be exempted from the relevant courses in the first four semesters of the curriculum.
TRANSFER TO HIGHER DEGREE PROGRAMS
Students who successfully complete their undergraduate education can study in graduate programs provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam and have a sufficient level of English language knowledge (with the results obtained from exams such as YDS, YÖKDİL, TOEFL etc.).
ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION
In the Environmental Engineering program, different evaluation methods such as midterm exams, final exams, homework, exercises, project applications are applied depending on the nature and requirements of the course. Exams can be in the form of classical exams or multiple choice exams. In homework and project evaluations, performance evaluation can be carried out with a written exam or an oral exam. The grade of a course is determined as a result of the evaluation of the above elements and is given as a letter grade. Letter grades and the coefficient of each grade are given below. In addition, other issues related to the measurement and evaluation are specified in the third part of Erciyes University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulations.
Final Grade | Coefficient | Performance |
AA | 4.00 | Excellent |
BA | 3.50 | Great |
BB | 3.00 | Good |
CB | 2.50 | Intermediate |
CC | 2.00 | Adequate |
DC | 1.50 | Inadequate
|
DD | 1.00 | Inadequate
|
FD | 0.50 | Inadequate
|
FF | 0.00 | Inadequate |
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Students who successfully complete all the courses and internships within the scope of the program receive the title of Environmental Engineer. In order to be considered successful in the course, the course grade must be CC and above (or not FF, FD, DD and DC grades). In order to graduate, students are required to pass all compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum of the year they enter the department, to provide a minimum of 240 ECTS credits in the courses achieved and to have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. These conditions also apply to the students who transfer to the department horizontally and vertically.
