DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING

Erciyes University Department of Environmental Engineering was established in 1999, and admission of undergraduate and graduate students started in the 2006/2007 Academic Year. Education and training activities continue in our department, which had approximately 400 graduates in the daytime and evening education until 2019. There are nearly 100 graduate students studying in Master's Degree and PhD programs in our department, and research and project activities continue. The main research topics of our department can be listed as water and wastewater treatment, water resources management, water recovery and reuse, water resources modeling, membrane treatment systems and waste management. Environmental pollution, clean production and pollution prevention are also interdisciplinary topics and offer opportunities to work with different disciplines. In order to train environmental engineers who are experts in their field, an applied education is provided in cooperation with national and local educational and industrial organizations and local administrations. With courses such as "Environmental Officer" and "Professional Practices", both training is provided by following the latest developments in terms of current Environmental Legislation and the communication of students with expert Environmental Engineers is increased. Our department conducts original research on the environmental problems of the country and the region and publishes these researches in national and international journals. Until 2019, 11 TUBITAK projects and nearly 100 BAP projects were carried out in our department, and there are nearly 100 scientific publications scanned by international indexes.
